Chapel
Students attend chapel weekly at the Scottsdale-Thunderbird SDA Church. We believe it is important for our students to be active participants in the chapel services. By rotating chapel planning through all the classrooms, students learn to become leaders for Christ. Parents are welcome to attend chapels. The chapel schedule is posted on our school’s calendar.
-
Music
We believe music positively impacts a student’s academic performance, assists in developing social skills, and provides a creative outlet. All grade levels, including Kindergarten, are learning music theory as well as performing. Students are given the opportunity to play chimes and band instruments.
-
STEM
The STEM program is offered for all grades at TCE. Using hands-on experimentation and project-based learning, students learn problem solving, critical thinking, communication, and project management. Experiences offered in our STEM lab include robotics, biology, nursing, computer coding, video production, and video game design.

P.E. & Athletics
The P.E. and Athletics program provides students with tools to develop their God-given abilities while teaching Christian character and life skills such as cooperation, self-sacrifice, leadership, fair play, good sportsmanship, and a common concern for others. All grade levels at TCE have P.E. class.

Field Trips
Various field trips are planned each year. Field trips are designed to tie into the curriculum and/or for art enrichment. We expose our students to many wonderful destinations in the Phoenix area, such as the Phoenix Symphony, the Phoenix Zoo, and The Butterfly Wonderland. Grades 5-8 attend Outdoor School at a beautiful summer camp in Prescott, AZ. The 8th grade class will visit our nation’s capital, Washington D.C., each year to help teach good citizenship and enhance their history and government classes.

Special Events
Several special events are planned for TCE students. In the Fall we have a back-to-school swim vespers, swim Olympics, and a Pet Parade to honor our Veterans. At Thanksgiving we provide a family style meal for our students and parents. We also have a Christmas Concert in December. During the Easter season, our students participate in a special Communion service. In the Spring we have a Track and Field Day, an Academic Fair, and a Spring Concert with music and drama performances. Of course, we end the year with Kindergarten and 8th grade graduation ceremonies.
